I am facing a big dilemma as I have planned to go back to job after few years of gap. I have 2 daughters, the elder one is 11 years old and the younger one is 6 years old. Is it safe to leave my kids in the crèche for the whole day? Can you please share your experience?

This totally depends on the day care or crèche that you choose. I had to return to job when my son was only 6 months old and I had to face some problems regarding cleanliness and some sort of infections. Since there are many children staying in the crèche, they love to touch and kiss my baby but at time they are not so clean. My baby used to suffer from cough and cold very often. So I think you should first visit the crèche and see if they have proper facilities to keep children.

Yes, I agree with you Adhishri. My son is 7 years old and he loves to go to the crèche after school as I am a working mother. But kids often get viral fevers as it is contagious and one child suffering from fever has the chance to infect others also if proper caution is not taken. Since I did not have any other helping hand, I was not left with any other option.

Hi, Since your daughters are already grown up, I think you can teach them to maintain their cleanliness. You can give them sanitizers and ask them to wash their hands after they return from school or before having their food. I don’t think this will be a big issue. You can go for a good crèche and take up the job. No worries.

    Hello

My daughter is 12 years old. I have often heard about various incidents in school, day care etc. But if you consider everything, I think it would be very difficult for you to proceed in life. So stop worrying but do check the creche facilities thoroughly before taking any decision.

There are good crèche centers that provide a comfortable and healthy environment appropriate for your child’s age. If you can send your children to school where there are so many kids, I think sending to a crèche should not be an issue.

    Hi,

I have found a creche in my locality and I am planning to visit it soon to check whether they offer proper facilities or not. Thanks for sharing your opinion.

    Hi Lopamudra,

I understand your concern, for this I can only suggest that you visit
the crèche and talk to the in charge clearly and ask her about the
safety of your child. There may be watchman or some other male helpers.
Make sure they all are verified and trusted people.

    Hi
Yes I agree with you Nirupama, but I don’t know why I am unable to stop worrying. I am concerned more about their safety as they are girls. May be as a mother I am overprotective.
