    Hello
My 7 month old daughter has started teething. For the past few days she is unable to sleep properly even at night and is also keeping me awake. I am so stressed and tired. Can anyone please tell me if teething is really very painful and is there any remedy to reduce her pain?

    Hi
Yes, teething is a painful process for the baby. The baby becomes very irritated and uncomfortable and at times few of them may also have fever due to the pain. You can give your baby a gentle gum massage with clean finger. This will help to ease the pain of teething.

    Hi Nirupama
I used to give my son a spoon or cold washcloth or a frozen teething ring which he used to bite. But remember extreme cold can be harmful for your baby.

    Hi
You can try giving your baby some solid foods like a peeled and chilled carrot or cucumber. But keep an eye on her so that she does not break a piece of it and swallow as it might cause choking.

    Hi
Give her a teether or a teething toy as biting it will help the teeth to come out quickly and will also reduce the pain. But make sure that the toy is non toxic.

    Hello
If your baby has started to eat solids, then give her some cold food like applesauce to reduce the gun pain and also to keep her full.

    Hi
If your baby is suffering from too much pain then ask your doctor for some pain reliever. This will reduce the night screaming episodes and also relieve you from stress.

    Hi
You can also try giving her homeopathic teething drops and tablets. But before using any medication always consult the doctor.
You can also give your baby a liquid filled teether. Keep it in the fridge for 15 -20 minutes before using it.

    Hello Nirupama,

Teething is a painful for infants. I have seen my elder sister giving cold water in a feeding bottle to her son. You can also use a feeding cup or a sippy cup as an alternative.

    Hello
Ask the doctor for any good teething gels that can be rubbed on the gums. Usually such gels ease pain and also prevent any infection.
